Spring is here

Spring is here and I for one am glad. I enjoy winter for about the first couple of weeks then wish for it’s quick end. I did get some winter photos but for the most part didn’t do much photography over the winter. I did get some beach shots a couple of weeks back that turned out well. I’m looking forward to May when things really start to bloom. The birds have started coming back so I might try and get some bird photos. Well see you all out and about.

Posting photos for all to see

   As of late I’ve been thinking of how I post my photos. I’ve been using photo sites like Flickr and Picasa.  I been thinking if that’s the best way for a beginning photographer to get exposure.  I would like to maybe one day make some money at it. For now it’s just a hobby and I’m still learning the ins and outs of photography.  But at some stage I’m gonna have to make a change my photography as a hobby and into a career.

   I’ve also thinking that maybe a class or two or a photography club might come in handy.  Maybe when my schedule permits I just might  do one or both of those things. I do think that I could learn a lot more out of it if I was part of a class or club.

Spring is coming

     Well spring is almost here and I’ll be able to head out to a driving range and also to start taking more photos.  Spring a great time to get good photos and a good time to get warmed up for golfing season. I don’t golf as much as I used to and would like to get out and do more of it.  I think I just wanna get out of the house, getting cabin fever bad.  So as soon as the nice weather starts I’m heading out into the world again.

     When spring has sprung and the flowers and greenery comes back it’ll be good photography material.  I hope to have a copy of either Aperture or Photo-shop so I can edit the photos I do take.  The spring usually brings really bright and vivid colors.

    As for golf, I spend most of the time at the driving range.  Don’t know two many people that golf except my father.  So I usualy hit the driving range or occasionaly I will go to a golf course and either solo play or find a group. 

    So those are my plans for the spring time once the weather starts warming up.  Of course will probably catch an odd movie or two that I’m looking forward to coming out.  So I’ll see you on the golf course or around with my camera taking photos….

Photography in the winter months

I’ve found it difficult in the winter months with my photography. From trying to find things to shot, to trying to get shots that aren’t washed out by the snow.  I’ve found my photography has dropped off since December. I really want to get back to taking pictures but am having a difficult time finding away around those issues.  I look foward to the spring time with all the flowers, colors and the warmth of spring and summer.

Trip to The White Mountain National Park

On Saturday I took a trip north to the White Mountain National Park. I took some pictures while I was there. I stopped off to the site where the Old Man in the Mountain used to be. There is know indication on the mountain of the old man any more. But the viewing area is still there and I shot some photos there. I also travel down the Kangamangus highway and stopped a few viewing areas to shoot some more photos. Photography as a Hobby

For the past few month I’ve been learning quite a bit about photography. I’ve been out taking pictures and learning how to use my camera. I’m using a digital camera from Sony. My camera is the Sony DSC-H9 digital camera. I usually edit them with The Gimp photo editor. And I’ve been really enjoying photography, I don’t know how people can do it as a living  though. I wish I could but I don’t think my pictures are quite there yet, still need a little work yet.  So if you see me out and about shooting pictures come and say hi….

Day out Taking Photographs

I spent all morning and part of the afternoon around a few of the towns near my house taking photographs. I was able to get some good shots of an old water driven saw mill and some trail pictures as well. I’ve been actually having a good time with photography, and I’ve been getting some good responses from people. I do it for fun mostly and to get out of the house, but it’s still a good feeling to know people appreciate the photo’s I take. I post most all my photos on Flickr which is a site that you can post them on. I put them on there because it would be a lot easier to do that then to e-mail them to everyone individually. This is one of my favorite Picture I took last weekend. I was out with my sister, brother in-law, and nephew.  We were checking out some of the old forts in Kittery Maine.
